If you start immediately then it can take anything between 7 months to 10 months ( on the skilled migration category ) and even more than that. It all depends on the procedure / category of visa / government policy at the time of lodging the application / how fast you supply all the documents and also sometimes on your skills (in particular cases processing times can be made shorter).
